Opened in the summer of 2008, this Icelandic theme hotel focuses on energy. Located on the slopes of Mt. Hengill, Fosshotel Hengill offers dramatic views over Lake Thingvallavatn and the Hengill Mountain Range. Still the hotel is only a 30 minutes drive from Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland.

Located 177 meters above sea level in the south-western part of the country, Fosshotel Hengill is an excellent place to depart on a hunt for the Aurora Borealis, also called the Northern lights, which most often occurs from September to April.
